Maybe it was the HHHC’s secret clubhouse vibe, but when we saw this strain, the name reminded us of The Little Rascals. We’re not really familiar with the classic ‘Our Gang’ shorts that made them legendary, but we are very familiar with the 1994 film, The Little Rascals. Damn, those kids were funny. And what goes better with an old comedy than a new Indica?

Appearance 5/5
This flower sparkles like a diamond. The pods are very tightly compact, with dark green leaves and so-orange-they’re-brown tendrils squeezed together, and covered with a healthy dusting of crystals. The colors may blend together, but the crystals make it pop.

Aroma 4/5
This is a very pungent plant with a strong odor. It carries a scent that’s earthy and mossy, and feels full-bodied. It’s very intense, but still quite enjoyable. But be careful -- this smell will fill the room very quickly.

Taste 4/5
The smoke is very neutral and plain, but there’s a slight sweetness on the exhale. It’s a well rounded and warm flavor, like bubblegum. It’s very subtle. Otherwise, this is a highly-smokeable strain that doesn’t burn, or leave a bad aftertaste.

Effect 4/5
Strong but not overwhelming. This strain might be named Rascal, but it’s a great smoke for focus and productivity. The Indica high made us feel settled and strong, like we could take a deep dive into anything from a good book to cleaning out the closet. However, we were still able to pop out of our feelings, unlike the strong tunnel-vision that Indicas can usually produce.

We must admit, however, that we did find ourselves easily distracted. So if you’re lighting up in effort to get shit done, we suggest you do your best to set yourself up for success by trying to limit your exposure to anything that may distract you -- because it probably will.

While we thought this strain would have a more playful effect, we were delighted to realize that this might be our new go-to plant for productivity.  Rascal OG gave us the boost of focus and motivation to get stuff done, and we’re grateful for the nudge in the right direction.  We’re going to be keeping this in our stash for when we need it, and think you should do the same.

There is so much dank bud at the House of Herbal Healing Church.  We picked up a great Indica and we’re surprised by its potency.  Which adds to the long list of great flower we’ve purchased there in the past.

How does that Queen song go?  Oh, yeah…”Another one makes the list!

When it comes to buying some bud in downtown LA, your options are quickly becoming plentiful. It seems that the old saying hangs true down there, “Take out one, and two will spring up to replace it.” Seriously. There’s been an absolute explosion of spots within the past few months, and one of our favorites has got to be the House of Herbal Healing Church.

One of the things we love most about it is that it’s slightly outside of downtown. Located just west of the 110 freeway, there aren’t any skyscrapers on this stretch of Olympic Boulevard. Which means there’s no gridlock traffic and plenty of parking. Also, if you’re lucky, you can park in the lot behind the HHHC. We say “if” because when we dropped by, the lot was full. But street parking was easily attainable, and it was only an extra minute before we headed inside.

HHHC sports a very large showroom with lots of elbow room, display cases, and even a few couches. There’s a chalkboard on the wall that has products and pricing laid out for you. This shop carries a lot of great stuff, but it’s pretty much the fun stuff only. That means very few CBD products, but there are plenty of pre-rolls, edibles, and vapes (both cartridges and disposables), and tons of great flower.

The selection of flower at this place is the real reason to shop here. They’ve got everything laid out in giant jars, all filled to the brim, with delicious green pods. The jars are arranged by quality, ranging from your “Mid-Shelf” to your “Private Reserve” stock. The price difference is nominal, but our budtender assured us that the quality difference was significant.

That didn’t bother us. You practically have to go out of your way to buy some bad flower in this shop. Even their “Mid-Shelf” selection -- which was actually pretty small -- looked dank. Their “Private Reserve” was more than twice as big, and all those flowers looked pretty wonderful. Our budtender was quick to recommend some of her favorites, and it was on their suggestion that we picked up anIndica strain called, Rascal OG.
